In gratitude
Like a tree in a natural forest
I do not exist in isolation
but rather in a deep network of support.
When one of us falls,
their presence stays.
Their new form asks us, endlessly,
how will you see me, now?
and little by little, the space they held becomes earth,
and in that earth new seedlings take root
and it all keeps going.
It is hard to lose a friend
hard to lose a brother, a father
anyone
but it is mostly hard if we forget that
death is just another part of living,
and growing, and arriving here,
over and over again
in this moment called now,
in which we are asked by some deeper knowing,
to reach down and out and up
and embrace a presence to what is,
which is big change, small change,
and a knowing that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.
In gratitude for all of you, and for those whose presence is sometimes hard to see. We hold each other up. Thank you for your support.
With love,
Lucyanna
